We have created this website to display for sale a unique selection of functional and decorative art by artist/sculptor Edward Goodon. He creates each piece from a variety of new and recycled materials and his reportoire includes work from comical to abstract to functional pieces with a twist. Originally creating pieces for his our garden, he has expanded his repertoire to cover many different areas of decorating and landscaping, fabricating and re-designing. Each piece to enhance a garden or patio, complete a landscaping project or create a focal point for interior decorating projects. All of the pieces are original - as with a true artist, he will not reproduce the same piece twice - each piece seems to take on its own personality.
There is a variety of pieces and projects including the following:
Sculptures - small to large pieces:
Gallery 1 & 2 displays the sculptures we currently have for sale and a few pieces that we recently sold.
Theme Gallery - some of the art work we have created run in themes which may be sold complete or by individual piece.
Commision Gallery - includes some of the special pieces we were commissioned to create over the past years.
Hanging Art - pieces created to hang on walls, indoors or out:

Custom Projects - this section includes a variety of pieces:
Wine Racks - we have created several styles of wine racks and have a varoiety of ideas we can't wait to build.
Fireplace Doors - wood and electric fireplaces.
Miscellaneous - from boat docks, spiral staircases, weather vanes to window boxes.
Modifications - this section showcases some of the unusual projects we've been involved in.
Multiple Projects in a Theme - customers that wanted several pieces for their yard with a theme running through them ie. quails
Landscaping - this section focuses on outside projects:
Arches - we have created several archways for gardens and would be happy to discuss placing one in your garden or creating a special one just for you.
Garden Hose Holders - we have created and sold a variety of these guys.
Entrance/Address Signs - we have worked with customers who have rocks at their entrance, have purchased sculptures and customized them and created an address sign for placement directly on their homes.
Security - we design and develope security bars with a twist - they are artistic and beautiful:

Fencing & Gates - we have been challenged to create unique designs on several projects over the years including:
Gates - several styles of gates, all unique.
Deck Rails - we have had projects from 180 ft. to 8 ft. of deck railings including railings for a doctor's office which included a handicap ramp railings.
Fencing - small to large projects 2 ft. to 6 ft. high with a few panels to a complete backyard.
Newsletter - this section is reserved for information on a feature piece, new pieces to upcoming shows and events.

The Gallery and Studio Our gallery/studio is located at 16675 Barkley Rd. Lake Country, BC Canada and we welcome visitors from 9:00 am to
5:00 pm, 7 days a week. We have an variety of artwork and sculptures on display. If you need directions,
give us a call or check the attached map .
A phone call ahead is a good idea as sometimes we step out for supplies.

About the Artist
Metal Dream Designs is a family business - husband and wife. Born and raised in rural Manitoba, as children we were inspired by the natural surroundings. After working most of our lives in an industrial settings, we bought an acreage in 1999 (Carr’s anding area) that inspired us to get back to what we enjoy the most in life.
Edward Goodon, Artist/sculptor
The creative force behind Metal Dream Designs, Edward's spirit soars as a metal sculptor. In his words "beginning of my explorations in form may be a type of material, an idea, scrap on the floor, a vision, a sketch, or nothing at all: just pure play. I try to create sculptures that play on the basic nature and ruggedness of the metals I use. I believe it's necessary to ensure that each sculpture expresses just the right emotion".
Welded steel, recycled metal and more come to life as Edward sculpts them into fluid, organic forms and “personalities". “I guess I’ve always been an Artist, building sculptures and art pieces has been a hobby of mine for the past 30 years". His work over the years has evolved into a diverse collection of garden sculptures and decorative indoor art pieces. "My ancestry is metis and this influence can be seen in several of my earlier pieces.
Some of the items used were actual items my dad and I used when trapping and hunting as a young man".
After many compliments and much encouragement from everyone who has seen his work, he decided that it was time to give his work the exposure it deserved. With the help of his wife, he began bringing his work to the public with the creation of Metal Dream Designs in 2005.
Debbie Goodon, Marketing Manager
Debbie has been a management accountant for the past 30 years. She has handled the management/business affairs of several large companies in a variety of industries over the years. More recently, she has been involved in marketing, including website creation. "Debbie has been instrumental in creating the website and working “shows” that we attend every year as well as “hands on” work involved in bringing the artwork to life" says Edward.
Metal Dream Designs has a dedicated following, with several buyers purchasing multiple pieces of artwork. The artwork is displayed in residential gardens and homes around Kelowna, Winfield, Vernon, Carr’s Landing, Whiterock, Victoria and Calgary. Branching out in to commercial projects and custom pieces has added a new dimention and an additional source of satisfaction.
Ed enjoys working on industrial, commercial and home improvement projects as well. He has worked on a variety of projects including fabricating a boat dock frame, refurishing a boat lift, and building a spiral staircase and deck railings. He has also customized trailors with gates and rakes. With his talents and creative approach, he can solve problems from a unique perspective. Special Service: Sometimes its hard to visualize how a particular piece would fit in your garden or to choose the just the right piece for your project. We have tried to remedy this situation by offering a special service(sorry, available only to local residents) - if you can choose one or several pieces that you are interested in, we will deliver those pieces to your home for a small "delivery fee" (cost of fuel only) and set them up for you. Once you have determined
which piece or pieces you would like to purchase, our "delivery fee" will be deducted from your purchase price. We are happy to provide this service as its always exciting to see his creations in their new homes.
All prices are in Canadian dollars. We accept cheques, money orders, email transfers and cash. All out of town cheques will be cleared before shipment of artwork is complete. We will arrange shipping to any world wide destination with the shipping costs added to the piece. If you live in or are visiting the Okanagan area of British Columbia and would like to see the pieces in person, please feel free to come to our gallery located at 16675 Barkley Rd., Lake Country, BC, Canada. Business hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm 7 days a week but call to ensure the gallery is open and for directions as needed.
